Position Overview

Are you looking for a career in a field of designing and development of Industry 4.0 software applications enabled with cloud computing, big data analytics, machine learning and much more?

Siemens Industry, Inc. is hiring full-stack Java developers for the US branch of its Process Industries and Drives (PD) division's Digital Enterprise Lab, located in Alpharetta GA . In this role, you will be part of Data Analytics and Development team and take responsibility for the designing and development of Industrial software applications using cloud computing, big data, data analytics, machine learning and many more modern technologies.

In the role of the ‘Products and Solutions Developer' , you will be designing and developing AI enabled software applications for Siemens' MindSphere, the IoT Cloud platform from Siemens using Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. MindSphere is the cloud-based, open IoT operating system from Siemens for the Industrial Internet of Things. Find more information about Siemens' MindSphere here:https://siemens.mindsphere.io/ .

You will report directly to the Head of Data Analytics and Development.

Siemens PD's Digital Enterprise Lab focuses on the development of innovative, data-driven, cloud enabled software applications for industrial digitalization using cutting edge technologies.

Responsibilities – Leadership, Customer Orientation, Innovative Mindset, Ownership, Problem Solving

·  Together with Product-Owners, software architects, UX designers and data analysts you will design and develop and bring into the global market fascinating new IOT products by means of modern technologies in the area of cloud/edge/hybrid computing, machine learning, deep learning, data analytics and Big Data. You will design and develop Siemens' MindSphere Cloud software applications.
·  You work as a key software developer in an innovative, world-wide, scrum development team doing full-stack web applications development with Java and other languages as needed.
·  Work with peers to analyze technical design options and implement solutions that are efficient, scalable and meet the acceptance criteria.
·  Ensure software developed adheres to best practices and quality standards through code and design reviews.
·  Write unit tests that fully cover all new code.
·  Write quality documentation at both the code and business level
·  Next to the Developer role you will also take on other functions in the area of the software architecture, DevOps solutions.
·  Within the framework of DevOps you will take over the team responsibility for the quality of the delivered products.
·  You will gladly share your knowledge and coach other team members.
·  You will have the enjoyment of the continuous learning and bringing new ideas forward.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or similar.
·  5+ years of knowledge and experience in the programming developing commercial software products using Java, HTML5, JavaScript, AngularJS, CSS and other web technologies.
·  2+ years of knowledge and project experience in Big Data technologies like Hadoop, HDFS, Hbase, Kafka, Spark etc.
·  Experience with use of source code management systems such as GIT
·  Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, Cloud Foundry etc.
·  Experience with deployment models using Docker, Kubernetes etc.
·  Experience with Agile development, CI/CD, and Test Driven Development (TDD)
·  Demonstrated problem solving skills.
·  Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines, roles, and geographical and time zone boundaries.
·  Willingness to work in open-feedback environment that wants to continuously improve
·  Proficiency in the English language.

Qualified Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the Unites States.

Preferred Qualifications:

·  Working knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture, Microservices.
·  Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB), Angular, and Spring is a plus
·  Experience working in a CICD using tools such as Jenkins
·  Experience with any scripting language such as Python, Perl
·  Working knowledge of web services (SOAP, REST, AngularJS, JSON)
