GS IT Global Operations Lisbon is an international nearshore competence center, providing Siemens AG with innovative solutions and high-quality services across the IT value chain. What are my responsibilities?
DevOps Engineers are IT professionals who collaborate with software developers, system operators and other IT staff members to manage applications in the full software stack.
They cross and merge the barriers that exist between software development, testing and operations teams and keep existing networks in mind as they design, plan and test.
Technical Skills (min. 2 years of experience):
· Linux RHEL (6/7) / SUSE ES (11/12)
·
Windows 2012
·
Databases: Oracle 12c
·
Web servers: Apache-Tomcat, JBoss, IIS
·
Knowledge in Development and Automation Tools: GitLab / Jenkins/ Eclipse / IntelliJ / Jenkins / Gradle / SonarQube
·
Knowledge in IaC (Infrastructure as Code): TerraForm / AWS CloudFormation
·
Programming languages: Python, Shell scripting (Bash), Groovy
What do I need to qualify for this job?
· Availability to reside in Germany initially up to 6 months for on-site training on Teamcenter is mandatory
·
Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
·
Ability to code and script
·
Ability to work in close collaboration with the Teamcenter Development Team (Customizing solutions)
·
Availability to do occasional Weekend work/ Onsite (Germany) up to 6 times per year is mandatory
·
Knowledge in software build, integration, deployment is a plus
·
Experience with systems and IT operations in a High Secure Environment
·
Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
·
Strong grasp of automation tools
·
Awareness for agile methodology
·
Fluent in English (German is a plus)
·
Comfort with collaboration in virtual teams
·
Open communication and reaching across functional borders
·
Strong teamwork, decision-making, documentation and analytical skills
