Job Description:

Overview

Siemens offers a comprehensive portfolio of seamlessly integrated software products to support full life-cycle digital analysis, design, and manufacturing. This position contributes to the development of products in the Simcenter 3D portfolio.

You will be part of a highly innovative, fast-paced development team delivering core capabilities leveraged throughout the Simcenter 3D portfolio products. Your activities could include developing prototypes, researching technologies, and developing applications enabling the delivery of Simcenter 3D products to market. The capabilities delivered by the Simcenter 3D Core team are integral to customer effectivity and productivity.

As a member of an Agile Scrum, you will be a key technical resource expected to design, develop, and test solutions. You will actively participate in backlog planning, sprint planning, daily scrum, and sprint review. As a member of a self-directed team, you may also take on roles in solution architecting, test framework design, dev ops solution, or even Scrum Master… depending on the team needs and your ability to contribute.

Responsibilities

The software engineer filling this position will develop, enhance, and maintain finite element software for Windows and Linux platforms. You will be part of a strong team in a fast-paced environment embracing an Agile development process. Responsibilities will include understanding requirements, defining functional capabilities to satisfy customer workflows, designing software solutions using object-oriented analysis and design techniques, implementing and integrating algorithms, creating and executing quality assurance test plans, and assisting with product documentation. The successful candidate will follow and help establish best practices and standards to efficiently develop high quality software. They will possess sufficient domain knowledge to understand and analyze requirements and to propose and deliver innovative solutions to meet these requirements.

Requirements

· 
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or equivalent (Master's degree preferred)

· 
Experience programming in a commercial software environment using C++ or Java

· 
Solid Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and problem solving

· 
Ability to work well with a team in a fast-paced, Agile development environment.

· 
Software design and implementation that promotes efficient and maintainable code

Preferred Skills

Experience with finite element modeling and analysis and computer-aided engineering (CAE) software preferred

Ability to apply product or domain knowledge in the area of Simulation Pre-Processing to develop robust software solutions
