Role Summary/Purpose
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing shipments, reporting transportation metrics, identifying trends across global transportation methods and practices, providing visibility through projects and tools. Ensure that internal customers’ needs are met and that company policy and internal trade compliance regulations are adhered to.
Essential Responsibilities
· Continuous internal communication with internal pole managers/transportationteams
· Implementation of tools and dashboards for metric visibility andcommunication
· Analysis of transportation spend and tie to the financialledger
· Drive data analysis and business case development for keyprojects
· Coordinating and communicating shipment delivery requirements withfreight forwarders
· Primary contact for internal affiliates in reference to thelogistics process
· Responsible for timely, accurate and complete recordkeeping
· Support standardization of transportation processes across theregion
· Working cross-functionally with sourcing, operations, supply chain and finance to identifyimprovement opportunities and implement successful changes.
· Supportwarehousing optimization
· Maintaining and developing relationships withcurrent, new and potential service providers
· Overcome road blocks to ensuredelivery is made in line with internal and external customers’requirements
· Supporting Variable Cost Productivityinitiatives
· Responsible for on time delivery in/out of theregion
· Developing, measuring and reporting performance metrics to driveimprovements
· Leading change initiatives that will enable logistics to reach aworld-class level of operations
· Logistics support of localmanufacturing
· Logistics and customs clearance expertise for new productslocalization
· Inland distribution and unloading/rigging on sitemanaging
· Communication with Regulatory Authorities: submit the list of rawmaterials for importation tomeet needs of local manufacturing, control of special restriction for raw materials, provide regularreports
· Import/Export process risk assessment and Implementation of TradeCompliance policies:Harmonized Tariff classification, Russian and international tariff and nontariff rules monitoring incase of business related changes
· Cross-functionally work and continuousinternal communication with supply chain, manufacturing,modalities, sales, finance and operations to identify improvement opportunities and implementsuccessful changes
· Drive improvements in standardization, simplification andproductivity of daily activities
· Identify and report any quality or complianceconcerns and take immediate corrective action asrequired
· Proficient knowledge, understanding and leadership for InternationalTrade Compliance, identifyand resolve any trade compliance issues
Qualifications/Requirements
· High School Degree
· 2 years of experience working in logistics, engineering or supplychain management; or a HighSchool diploma/GED and 2 years of work experience in logistics, engineering, or supply chain management
· Experience in logistics or supply chain modeling &simulation
· Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced changingenvironment
· Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, Internal team environment
· Customs clearance processes knowledge’s (Customs Union,worldwide): documents, specifics,time, key points to control, laws, tariff and nontariff rules
· Demonstratedlogistics leadership of multiple facilities in a similar industry
· Excellent project management, communication and analytical skills
