ASCO Power Technologies, an industry leader in the manufacturing of Automatic Transfer Switches, Industrial Control Products, Load Banks, Power Control Systems, Services and Solutions, has an exciting career opportunity for an Associate Test Engineer based out of Florham Park, NJ.

JOB SUMMARY:

Support product development of microprocessor based control products by designing and building test fixtures. Perform verification and validation testing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Write test plans and procedures for testing both software and electronic hardware.
· Design, build and document test setups and test fixtures.
· Perform testing and record data.
· Review specifications to ensure proper testing has been included.
· Perform agency testing (IEC, UL, CSA).
· Troubleshoot technical problems and make recommendations to design engineers.
· Monitor production test data and identify trends.
· Write simple software and build circuits to automate collection of test data.
· Estimate test times.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Participate in product design reviews.

INTERACTIONS:

· Work as part of new product development teams to develop products.
· Provide updates to team leader and management on project status, progress and risks.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Experience in developing microcontroller based embedded software.
·  An understanding of microcontrollers, their capabilities and proper application.
·  Fundamental understanding of analog and digital electronics.
·  Working knowledge of electronic test equipment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

·  BSEE - entry level or maximum of two years of experience in the field of electronics.

COMPETENCIES:

·  Must be able to communicate effectively.
·  Must be able to manage details and meet deadlines.
·  Must be able to work independently.
·  Must be able to solve technical problems.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

·  Must be effective at using Microsoft Office.
·  Must have a working knowledge of emulators and other software development tools.
