ASCO Power Technologies, an industry leader in the manufacturing of automatic transfer switches, industrial control products and power control systems, services and solutions, has an exciting career opportunity for an Application Engineer in Clearwater FL.

Position Summary:

Responds to requests for technical, product and sales information, with the objective of converting inquiries into orders, named inclusion within procurement specifications, and providing technical and sales support for existing and future products and services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

•Handles inquiries for technical, product and sales information for surge suppression products
•Provides support for Product / Sales Coordinators and the Field Sales Organization concerning technical, marketing, procedural issues
•Reviews plans and specifications to determine applicable product conformance
•Assists in order negotiations by analyzing competitor pricing and technical issues
•Participates in training programs, trade shows and sales activities with customers and field sales offices
•Prepares technical proposals
•Completes specification compliances
•Maintains thorough knowledge of competitors and their trends in relation to product offerings and marketing. Reports such trends to marketing and sales management.
•Prepare and maintain cross-matrixes for competitors' products
•Peviews Requests for Engineering (RFEs), product improvements, etc.
•Prepares various management reports

INTERACTIONS:
•Flexible in dealing with internal customers, end customers and changing situations with increasing degrees of difficulty

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

•Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Computer Engineering (BSCE), Industrial Engineering (BSIE) or Physics
•Basic understanding of power distribution and electrical systems.
•Previous work experience in the electro-industry and/or sales or customer service is preferred, but not essential.

COMPETENCIES :

Strong interpersonal and communications skills
•Demonstrated proficient in scheduling, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines.
•Customer service attitude required
•Customer Service experience is preferred
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Knowledge of Autocad is preferred
•Good communication and social skills are mandatory. Customer Service experience is preferred
•Detail Oriented

COMPUTER SKILLS:

•Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
•Knowledge of Autocad is preferred
