Schneider Electric USA is a leading manufacturer of equipment for electrical distribution, industrial control, and automation. We have the following position available in Schaumburg, Illinois:

Application Design Engineer (Multiple positions): S/he operates computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks. S/he prepare technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, or topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements. S/he confers with engineers, customers, or others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products. 30% domestic travel to visit customers. This position requires a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or related and three years of work experience in programming and thermodynamics in the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and pumping technologies. Also must have three years of work experience with: Utilizing HVAC&R and pumping technologies including Thermodynamic, modeling of the equipment, simulation, and flow modeling; Utilizing automation and control including PLC programming in SoMachineHVAC; Utilizing, designing, configuring, debugging and running Variable Speed Drives and Soft Start-Soft Stop units and related energy saving calculations; Utilizing associated Low voltage distribution components, concepts, protection settings, calculations and architectures including compact and air circuit breakers by ECODIAL L&S softwares; Utilizing of field buses as industrial communications including Modbus, Profibus, CANopen, Ethernet plus Building Management Systems (BMS) protocols including: BACnet MS/TP, BACnet IP and LONworks; Utilizing, designing, configuring, debugging, and running of monitoring systems including HMI by Vijeodesigner and SCADA by VijeoCITECT; Utilizing PLC equipment with 400 inputs and outputs; and Utilizing 5,000 line of code programming in 5 standard IEC 61131-3 languages.
