What is the role?

Based in Sydney, we are now actively recruiting a Advanced Technical Support Engineer – High End Controllers (PLC) & industrial Automation . The Advanced Support Engineer will be responsible for supporting our PLC and Process Automation Controllers which includes Modicon M580, M340, Premium, Quantum, Modicon STB, HMI, Unity Pro and associated Field Bus communication modules. This role troubleshoots complex issues, reproduces (as necessary) problems customers are experiencing, investigates and proposes workarounds, and interfaces with Expert teams and Development to obtain solutions. This is a customer-facing role, responding to inquiries coming in via telephone, email, and Internet. Key responsibilities will include:

· Customer support: End-user customers, system integrators and distributors
· Technical troubleshooting, analysis, and diagnosis of product issues
· Issue replication / duplication and research into workarounds
· Documentation of activities and findings in a case tracking tool
· Knowledge transfer via technical documentation such as Application Notes, White Papers, Knowledge Objects and Video FAQ
· Interaction with colleagues in other support centres and departments such as R&D, Product Management, Technical Sales Consultants and Product Application Engineers

· Tertiary qualification in Control System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related discipline
· Relevant post-qualification control system experience working with Industrial Networks and favourably with Schneider Electric PLC's, SCADA, Software and peripheral devices.
· Strong understanding of industrial protocols and communications systems, including but not limited to Modbus, Profibus, EtherNetIP.
· Exceptional fault finding ability related of Industrial Control Systems and associated technology.
· Experience in programming, troubleshooting and commissioning of the Schneider Unity PLCs
