PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The Performance and Scalability team within Products & Innovation board area is the central center of expertise for all performance and architectural aspects inside SAP SE. The team consists of over 50 experts and the majority of them is located in Walldorf. Since Performance is more and more becoming one of the key differentiators when comparing different solutions, we as the central performance team play a crucial role by providing our services to the entire organization.
Are you curious to work in a team that comprises experts for all technologies and deliveries? Our duties range from architectural guidance, performance consulting & analysis, knowledge transfer by e.g. performance trainings to tool provisioning. Sizing, benchmarks and customer contacts are part of the daily work.
Desired profile
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a Technical Expert for Performance you will particularly focus on the following tasks:
- Conduct end-to-end analysis with focus on Cloud products and assist the development to reach the given performance KPIs, evolve scalability parameters and do system sizings
- Investigation of performance relevant aspects like elasticity and resilience of Cloud infrastructure components like Cloud Foundry or Container
- Performance test automation, execution and result analysis
- Design new and develop our existing Performance test automation tools further
- Expertise roll-out by e.g. carrying out training sessions
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Required skills
- Master degree in computer science, natural science or a related technical discipline
- Fluency in English and German – verbal and written
- Proficiency in Java
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You are comfortable to multiply your knowledge inside and outside the team.
- Interest in understanding performance challenges across hardware, virtualization and software layers and in developing solutions together with the development organizations
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented
Preferred skills
- Experience with Virtualization, Cloud, DevOps and test driven development
- Experience in test automation, performance measurement and analysis
- Quality aware and good understanding of technical processes and constraints
- Good knowledge of SAP’s solution portfolio, in terms of functional scope, architecture and technology
WORK EXPERIENCE
This is an entry level position for recent or upcoming graduates with 0-2 years of work experience. Graduates are very welcome! Ideally some experience:
• With performance analysis, UI automation, load test tools
• In application development for Cloud environments
• In Java development and / or consulting
