PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The Gateway unit is part of the Core Platform unit within the Products & Innovation - Technology area. The charter of our organization is to define and build new lines of strategic and innovative products driving the goal to extend the reach of SAP software to more users by delivering a simplified way to both consume and extend SAP functionality.
Our portfolio comprises both of existing products – like one of the fastest growing products in SAP history, SAP Gateway – and as well of future products that reflect our thought leadership in the integration for Fiori based consumption. The “Gateway thinking” is the key enabler in many of our SAP solutions like Fiori, S/4HANA, UI5, SMP, JAM, and more. We understand our deliveries as our commitment to constant innovation based on customer and stakeholder demands, contributing significantly to SAP’s strategy of timeless software and interoperability. Furthermore, with messaging the Gateway unit provides one of the mission-critical components for modern architectures used in IoT and integration scenarios.
For our Walldorf team we are looking for a highly motivated ABAP developer to support our ABAP based developments for the implementation of the OData standard.

Desired profile

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

·  Understand the requirements of our stakeholders
·  Take responsibility for the entire development cycle: design, implement, test, maintain required core components in the OData area
·  Willingness to take on challenging tasks

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

·  Good Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related fields
·  ABAP skills
·  Analytical and problem solving skills and motivated to improve processes continuously
·  Good communication skills and experienced in working in an agile and volatile environment
·  An open and team-oriented mindset
·  Fluent in German and excellent in English, both spoken and written.

WORK EXPERIENCE

·  This is an entry level position for recent or upcoming graduates with 0-2 years of work experience
·  Job related experience in software development processes and SAP experience (e.g. working student jobs, internships) is preferred but not a prerequisite
