PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The Connected Cores unit is part of the Core Platform unit within the Products & Innovation - Technology area. The charter of our organization is to define and build new lines of strategic and innovative products - like one of the fastest growing products in SAP history, SAP Gateway which e.g. ensures to extend the reach of our SAP software to more users by delivering a simplified way to both consume and extend SAP functionality, based on open standards. Our unit also provides a growing range of components for SAP internal usage and as well Open Source contributions. For the Java Stack we provide the OData Library (Java) and for JavaScript/node.js stack we build the OData server library, available at Apache Olingo, a Top-Level Project at the Apache Software Foundation and on NPM. Our libraries enable application developers to expose or consume data within their web centric scenarios and mobile applications.

We now need to increase our team in order to respond to this growing demand from customers and internal stakeholders. For our Walldorf based teams we are looking for a highly motivated Developer (Associate) to support our JavaScript developments for HANA XS Advanced apps.

Desired profile

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

·  Primarily responsible for design, coding, testing of challenging specific product features for OData on XS2.
·  Builds up domain knowledge, shows initiative and drives topics to resolution in a high level of quality, speed, reliability and efficiency
·  Motivated developer, willing and open to accept responsibility for technology core components
·  Interested in developing and thinking in Cloud and Open Source Principles
·  Willingness to grow personally, and continuously improve own work methods
·  Ability to pick up knowledge in new areas very fast

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

·  Degree in computer science or a related subject (such as business informatics, informatics, engineering)
·  Excellent hands-on experience in JavaScript, ideally also with OData
·  Knowhow or experience in Node.js, Cloud development, SQL and Micro Service Architecture would be beneficial
·  Strong results-oriented working attitude  
·  Good communication, presentation and networking skills
·  Fluent in oral and written English and German

 

 WORK EXPERIENCE

·  Graduates welcome as well as young professionals with 2+ years work experience in software implementation and design tasks, some experiences in architecture tasks
