ABOUT SAP

As market leader in enterprise application software, SAP helps companies of all sizes and industries run better. From back office to boardroom, warehouse to storefront, desktop to mobile device – SAP empowers people and organizations to work together more efficiently and use business insight more effectively to stay ahead of the competition.

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

There is hardly any business area that is not affected by the Big Data wave, but customers struggle with a broad adoption due to the complexity of the solutions and lack of guidance from trusted suppliers.

The SAP Data Hub is a new member of the SAP product family with the beta release in June 2017. It enables customers to efficiently manage and coordinate big data scenarios in a complex system landscape spanning classic SAP applications, data warehouse installations and new Hadoop-based setups. It is an XS/A-based application plus a SAP VORA based execution engine for data pipelines (aka VFlow). It is tightly integrated with SAP VORA big data management, HANA and BW/4 HANA.

The Data Hub Orchestration Team is responsible for the Node.js development on XS/A. This comprises the backend components and services for the UIs, the orchestration engine to schedule and manage tasks across different systems, and interacting with the data hub adapter to execute big data processes / pipelines. This puts the team into a very central position as the proxy and coordinator between all major groups in the larger Data Hub development project with locations all around the SAP globe.
