Job description

Job Title: Associate Scientist III

Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and energetic individual to join our Hematology research group at Bioverativ, a Sanofi company. In this position, the individual will lead efforts to characterize and support to the development of preclinical and clinical stage biologics aimed at treating patients with bleeding disorders. Duties will include the use of clinically established coagulation assays, various biochemical techniques, as well as the development of novel assays to better understand the various emerging modalities (i.e. bispecific antibodies, siRNA, etc.) currently in development for the treatment of hemophilia and other bleeding disorders.

Responsibilities include:

·  Execution of various preclinical and clinical coagulation assays, including plate-based assays, to assess the efficacy and pharmacokinetics of biologics for the treatment of hemophilia
·  Novel method development and experimental design using a broad range of biochemical techniques
·  Independent data generation and analysis, paired with documenting work in an electronic notebooking system
·  Presenting experimental data at team meetings
·  Adapting to various workflows with the flexibility to change directions and work on a broad range of scientific problems

Skills and/or experience :

·  This position requires previous hands-on experience in assay execution and analysis including standard curve generation, dose responses, and a demonstrated understanding of matrix effects, dynamic range, linearity/parallelism, and assay limitations
·  Experience with plate-based assays and complementary assortment of biochemical and molecular biology skills (i.e. ELISA, Octet, activity or enzymatic assays, pull-downs, SDS Page, Westerns, etc.)
·  Attention to detail and the ability to identify and dissect experimental nuances that may affect the results and/or data interpretation
·  Effective oral and written communication skills, self-management, task planning and organization skills.
·  Background in coagulation/clotting, experience with hematologic assays, or working with biological samples including serum, plasma, and whole blood is a plus

Basic Qualifications

·  Bachelor's Degree in Biology or related field with more than 5+ years of research experience or Master's degree in Biology with 3+ years of research experience or related field is required.
