Applications are invited for the position of Training and HR Specialist.

Reporting to the Head of HR, this person is responsible for providing a comprehensive HR and Training service to line management covering training and compliance, onboarding, audit readiness, employee relations, employment legislation, recruitment and selection, policy implementation and the generation of meaningful HR metrics. This person will also manage the Global Training system for allocated departments and ensure compliance to FDA and regulatory standards and ensure training process audit readiness.

Key responsibilities:

1. Identification of new training and development needs using the annual curriculum review process for allocated group.
2. Conducting an annual training needs analysis to identify organisational training needs
3. Maintain the training system in a state of compliance to all corporate and regulatory standards. Implement corrective and preventative actions from audits and close in a timely manner.
4. Developing educational programmes in cooperation with third level institutions that can be tailored to meet organizational requirements.
5. Generate and manage the training and educational assistance process and budget.
6. Developing the employee induction programme using the most effective delivery methods and combining classroom, e-learning and informal learning.
7. Manage end to end recruitment process for direct and indirect hires.
8. Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, independent advice and support to Managers/Supervisors and employees as required in disciplinary and grievance issues. Complete investigations as required. Maintain good labour relations.
9. Develop and implement HR Policies and Procedures and ensure that these best practice policies and procedures area are adhered to and are compliant with employment legislation. Provide advice to all levels on HR policies.
10. Maintain the HR IT system and liaise with HR Operations to ensure all employee documentation and records are updated accurately and in a timely manner.
11. Other ad-hoc HR duties as they arise. e.g.: Represent the HR function in various teams related to the function. Complete adhoc HR projects as required e.g. divisional projects (IGM, Security Watchdog).

Minimum requirements

Required Skills:

• Excellent planning and organisational skills and a good ability to prioritise and multi-task.
• Strong IT systems knowledge. Strong Excel and Word skills.
• Must be capable of working accurately and under pressure and to deadlines.
• Must be prepared and capable of making decisions.
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation).
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Good analytical skills and ability to analyse and summarise HR data
• Strong knowledge of Irish and EU Legislation requirements.
• Confidentiality and discretion are essential.
• Energetic and flexible disposition

Education
Minimum: Degree in HR, Business studies or related discipline
Preferred: Degree (Hons) in HR or equivalent plus membership of CIPD with strong systems orientation
Alternative combination: Diploma in Human resources coupled with Diploma in Employment Law and over 6 years HR experience in medical device industry.

Experience
Minimum: 3-5 years preferably in a Specialist / Generalist role
Preferred: Minimum >5 years Human Resources in a multinational Manufacturing company, with broad knowledge of all aspects of HR. Training function experience.
