• Lead and coordinate a lab team of dynamic individuals focusing on all upstream development aspects from molecular-biological strain characterization to lab-scale fermentation
• Establish and advance biotechnological equipment for fermentation process development and advanced strain characterization
• Plan and organize upstream development programs at various scales
• Support refinement of development concepts and scientific knowledge management
• Ensure allocated labs are working in compliance with internal procedures, guidelines and regulations

Desired profile

Minimum requirements

• Education: PhD in Biotechnology or Microbiology preferably with 1-2 years of related post-doctoral or industrial experience or Master with at least 2-4 years of superior work related experiences
• Languages: German / English
• Experience: Broad scientific or technical knowledge in applied microbiology, biotechnology, biochemistry, bioengineering or similar with strong background in fermentation, excellent knowledge of and practical experience with laboratory tools/fermenters, good knowledge of relevant software tools, awareness of safety regulations and safe handling of chemicals and equipment, good skills in presentation and scientific/technical writing, preferred: in-depth insights in GMP regulations
