General Description
We are looking for an ambitious and proactive Technology Scout - Sourcing specialist (m/f), whom has the relevant technical and market knowledge to effectively source latest technologies and also possess necessary people skills to promote the technologies to relevant HQ R&D and Procurement members (internal customers) driving innovation to Samsung products through generating business with European technology suppliers. Location: Schwalbach im Taunus Your responsibilities: Information Reporting • Be the forefront information antenna of Europe to provide our internal customers (HQ R&D and Procurement teams) with latest news at the earliest availability concerning technology, market, logistics, finance, politics, etc. which may affect Samsung's activities. • Deliver information in the most efficient format which identifies with target reader: immediate spot reporting, newsletter, in-depth analysis report. Sourcing • Develop new businesses through self-initiated internal marketing and solid market research: ◦ Handle requests received from HQ on technology sourcing needs ◦ Voluntarily create projects by investigating/analysing the market and scouting innovative technology suppliers with potential Samsung product application. Promoting technologies to internal customers, resulting in commercialisation of technology in Samsung products, thus creating business • Liaise daily with internal customers such as HQ's Global Purchasing and Product development R&D teams to understand their needs and fully support ongoing projects and events: lead communication channel, technical discussions, product specification/price/business route negotiations, sample arrangement, NDA, seminar/workshop arrangement, etc. • Maintain and develop robust relationships with external suppliers and manage them, ensuring that they are meeting our requirements in all aspects : performing supplier audits, price negotiations, quarterly business reviews and product roadmap reviews • Create technology alliance networks with external organisations and companies to establish access to potential technology supplier information • Support HQ internal customer visits to Europe – arranging meetings, travel, technology discussions, negotiations, communication, etc. • Contribute towards Sourcing team's set target KPIs • Evaluate company's technology competency and incubate and monitor for future Samsung application.
Company Information
Europe IPC (International Procurement Centre) is a purchasing department responsible for business relations with European suppliers. IPC offices are based in Germany and in the UK. IPC Germany is responsible for sourcing activities; discovering/scouting and developing business with innovative technology companies which have the potential to become a Samsung supplier, and IPC UK is responsible for business operations, SCM and supervision of companies which are established Samsung suppliers.

Necessary Skills / Attributes
Requirements • 2 years of experience in Technology market with scouting/sourcing, business development, sales, purchasing in similar or related industry to Samsung Electronics • Extensive knowledge and personal interest in the latest trending technologies which could be seen in Samsung products (semiconductors, new materials, electronics, manufacturing tech, etc.) • Proficient in communication/language skills : negotiation skills in English (Working language) and German • Strong social, networking, negotiating and presentational skills with experience in customer support • University graduate from a reputable institute, technical background such as engineering/science major preferred • Job requires travelling when necessary to exhibitions, other countries for meetings; ability to travel with problem-free visa status and full driving license is a must • Excellent communication and negotiation skills – Able to understand clearly the request of the internal customer and build relationships at all levels (often with non-native English speakers, with executives) • High level professional quality analytical reporting skills • Highly focused and motivated, self-driven, energetic, proactive outgoing attitude, able to pick one-self up from disappointments and create self-initiative action without direct work assignments • Must be highly accurate and attention to detail, no room for careless error • Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team in a cross functional working environments • IT literate, proficient in MS Office • Results and delivery focused • Excellent English and very good German language skills.
