Job description



Essential Functions and Duties:

·  • Manages, coordinates, and facilitates the efforts and directives of a team of Manufacturing Engineers to support the fabrication and assembly processes and functions for new and legacy products; ensures On Time Delivery (OTD) of products to internal and external customers

·  • Manages, coordinates, and facilitates the investigation efforts for Disposition resolution of fabrication, assembly, and purchasing Nonconforming Material Reports (NMR's) with corrective and preventative actions (CAR/PAR) for determination of product quality for the OTD demand schedule

·  • Manages, coordinates, and facilitates the Manufacturing Engineering functions required for new fabricated prototype parts and assemblies for new customer programs

·  • Manages, coordinates and facilitates the investigation efforts for Escapes Tracking due to workmanship with CAR/PAR/FMEA for identification and implementation of process control; documents training of affected Technicians for reduction of warranty claims and increased product reliability

·  • Manages, coordinates, and facilitates process control improvements, including CAPPS, APS, Work Instructions Development, and Lean efforts for the fabrication and assembly processes ensuring consistent control with respect to Gemba

·  • Manages, coordinates, and facilitates cost reduction efforts in process and products for improved profitability

·  • Manages, coordinates, and facilitates DCN releases with Flow Down Distribution and Notification to CNC Programmers, Fabrication, & Assembly Technicians

·  • Manages, coordinates, and facilitates the Identification & Specification Review & submission of Purchase Requisitions for new Capital Equipment for Fabrication, Assembly, Test, & some Quality functions and layouts for said equipment

·  • Manages, coordinates, schedules, and facilitates tooling development for fabrication and assembly processes

·  • Manages, coordinates, and facilitates scrap determination with CAR/PAR resolution

·  • Participates in strategic planning, setting departmental budgets, goals, and metrics, policy, infrastructure, and company culture

·  • Trains and mentors others to achieve performance metrics

·  • Directs the employment actions of personnel, including hiring, termination, corrective action and performance management

·  • Performs other duties as assigned

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for managing, coordinating, and directing of a team of personnel involved in the support and manufacturing of new and legacy products for the company. The position will ensure team objectives are aligned to the company's strategic goals and business objectives. The position is also responsible for ensuring all products meet internal/external safety and quality requirements.

Job requirements

Required Experience and Education:

·  • BA or BS degree in Engineering or related field.
·  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or similar role
·  • 3-5 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment
·  • 3-5 years of supervisory/leadership experience
