At Safran Electrical & Power, our vision is smarter electrical solutions for a better flight. In the role of Technician, you will be responsible for construction and test of Automated Test Panels. Responsibilities include parts orders, inventory control and time management. Good communication, organization and coordination skills are required in order to work with multiple projects efficiently. The individual must possess the knowledge and experience necessary to work with potentially dangerous equipment in a safe manner in order to insure no injury to self and others. Applicant will be able to work with high voltage high and current equipment. This position contributes to our vision by:
A. Layout panels/enclosures following wiring diagrams, and sometimes verbal's
Will follow written and verbal instructions on how the panel will be laid out. Possesses the ability to read schematics and wire the panel / ATE to meet the requirements
B. Mounts components and terminal blocks:
Must have the ability to place and mount internal components with minimal assistance. This will include labeling of wires and components.
C. Electrical Theory
The position requires a understanding of basic electrical theory. Understanding Ohms law and basic component function is important. (E.g. resistor inductor etc.)
D. Troubleshooting:
Must have the ability to troubleshoot and correct problems with newly installed or wired panels / ATE.
E. Selection and Use of Test Equipment:
The ability to select and use appropriate test measurement equipment, data acquisition devices, computer hardware and software, and lab power equipment when testing ATE functionality
F. Analytical Problem Solving:
The ability to develop logical and analytical approaches to solving problems encountered in ATE Development.
G. Computer Applications:
Applicant will be able to use Microsoft Office as required. Applicant will be willing to learn new applications as required.
H. COTS understanding and familiarity
Possess an understanding of commercial off the shelf parts utilized in automation and testing.
I. Assists in other duties as assigned by Manager
J. Regular, predictable attendance is required

Candidate skills & requirements

Safran Electrical & Power looks for service-oriented team players with strong interpersonal skills, the right attitude and adaptability to an innovative and evolving environment.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to read and understand basic electrical diagrams and schematics
• Ability to build and wire electrical control panels from layouts, schematics and bills of materials
• Ability to size wire, cable and conduit to amperage and voltages on electrical schematics
• Ability to wire on ATE I/O to match schematic diagrams with physical proximity switches, sensors, data acquisition, etc.
• Understanding of industrial standards for wiring practices
• Ability to compose material lists for required for assigned task and order necessary components
• Experience with Machine wiring and cabling
• Ability to do light machining and fabrication
• Assist in establishing and implementing best work practices
• Ability to read and operate various measuring equipment related to electronics such as a digital multi-meter
• Possess a general knowledge of the use and operation of basic hand and power tools
• Assist in 5S and Lean activities as required
• Work within and contribute to a safety culture
• Must be willing to work overtime on business need

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of LabVIEW
• Knowledge of Automated Test Equipment
• Knowledge of UL and NFPA / NEC guidelines
• Associate's Degree from an accredited institution
