Roche Molecular Solutions (RMS) is offering an internship in Medical Affairs in Summer 2020 at our Pleasanton, CA, headquarters. This office-based position will be assigned in the RMS Medical & Scientific Affairs department, and will involve close collaborations with other functional areas, such as Clinical Sciences, Research, Business, Clinical Operations, Clinical Trial Support Laboratory, Logistics, Data Management and Biostatistics.

As an intern, you will assist and support various clinical study projects, either ongoing or in the planning phase, in the area of Virology molecular diagnostics. Example areas of focus include:

· 
Performing activities that support the execution of the medical plan for the different targets covered by Virology that are linked to data generation, data dissemination and medical education;

· 
Performing literature search and summaries on topics related to molecular diagnostics in HIV, HBV, HCV, and others to support registration and education activities

· 
Understanding the regulatory environment and requirements for conducting Clinical Studies

· 
Understanding and Training on RMS policies and procedures involved in, and related to Clinical Trials and engagement with HCPs

Additionally, the selected intern will be asked to participate in various intern activities, which may include workshops with leaders in the organization, our mentor program, and our Poster Symposium, among other activities.

Qualifications:

· 
Preferred Majors: Biology, Biochemistry, Pharm D, Medical Technologist, Molecular Biology

· 
Excellent skills in basic computer applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

· 
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

· 
Well organized and detail oriented.

Program Requirements:

· 
Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during program calendar year 2020

· 
Completed at least 3 years of college/university to be eligible for the program.

· 
Must have a ≥3.0 GPA

· 
Minimum availability of 12 weeks (Required start on or before program Welcome Reception and end date on or after Summer End Poster Symposium).

· 
Previous experience in the job duties listed, either through course work or industry/academia

· 
Participation in student organizations and/or other leadership experience
