We are a global Pharma Research Informatics Organization and are looking for a Business Analyst (Research Analyst) to join our highly dynamic Workflows group.
This exciting and challenging position located in Basel encompasses information management for scientific business areas such as Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Compound Screening, and Analytics. We enable data capturing, result generation and information integration to facilitate corresponding business process automation. The job will entail performing analysis and design of scientific workflow systems, and the subsequent implementation in accordance with Roche standards and practices.
Your main responsibilities will include:
·  Develop, maintain and drive the collaboration with a defined scientific area (scientific teams) and specifically develop a full understanding of underlying research processes
·  Establish and maintain effective partnerships with scientists, internal IT specialists and QA representatives
·  Analyze scientific workflows and effectively collect user requirements with scientists
·  Implement and maintain workflows in current LIMS, ELN frameworks or other technical platforms
·  Deliver training, guidance and data management support to scientists to increase effective usage of existing workflow systems

We are looking for an individual with a higher degree in life sciences and/or information management and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

In addition, as you will bring the following qualifications:

·  Advanced skills for the understanding, analysis, modeling and implementation of scientific business processes are critical
·  Good communication skills (verbal and written), problem solving skills, and fluency in English are required. German and/or French is an advantage
·  Ability to translate user requirements into system design, and implement useful workflow supporting modules is your core competency
·  You have practical knowledge of LIMS frameworks and/or electronic laboratory notebooks in a scientific environment, and, ideally, of data analysis and reporting tools
·  Practical knowledge of IDBS E-WorkBook/BioBook or GeneData Screener is a clear advantage
·  Good technical skills (scripting languages and SQL) are required to succeed in the position
