Scope of the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Accountant to join our Financial Controlling team within the Finance and Operations department at our UK headquarters in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. Working in a collaborative environment, the Financial Controlling team is accountable for the financial health and integrity of the business, providing critical information to support the Company in financial decision making.

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will play a crucial part in guiding the Company in Financial Accounting and Compliance, ensuring the tax, statutory and internal compliance of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

·  Statutory financial reporting, treasury and cash management, tax compliance
·  Providing financial technical accounting expertise
·  Maximising cash flow and profitability through effective balance sheet management
·  Internal reporting at local, divisional and group level
·  Management of the external audit
·  Active collaboration with the wider organisation to ensure best practice for internal control
·  Identifying best tools, systems and ways of working to ensure efficient processes

Who you are

In order to succeed as Assistant Financial Controller, you will need to have the ability to plan effectively and ensure delivery to the highest standards. This is a demanding role and will require someone with solid financial accounting experience and a demonstrable track record of work with, or within, a Financial Controlling team.

The ideal candidate will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with post qualification experience, gained in either an accountancy practice or a global organisation. You will need to have strong interpersonal skills and be able to build solid relationships at all levels across the business as well as with external stakeholders. In addition, excellent analytical skills, commercial awareness and exceptional attention to detail are vital.
