R&D Maintenance Electrician - Carlisle

Based in our Carlisle plant, this role will support electrical maintenance activity in R&D (primarily Prototype Build, Tyre Test and the main Laboratory). The key activity is supporting timely and efficient size changes in the Prototype Build area.

Role responsibilities

Reporting directly to Prototype Building Supervisor, main duties will include:

· Create / modify Tyre Building machine recipes
· The repair and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and components as required
· Diagnosis/Fault Finding of malfunctioning electrical systems, equipment and components
· Regular testing of electrical systems, equipment and components
· To ensure all electrical units within R&D areas function properly
· Comply with all safety norms and regulations of working
· Complete all tasks as assigned by the supervisor
· Following all standard operating procedures of working
· Attending relevant training and development activities

Required Qualifications and aptitudes

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following abilities:

· Time served Electrician with appropriate Technical qualification
· Knowledge of Siemens PLC controls is essential, or the willingness to obtain the necessary skills
· Good knowledge of single and three-phased systems
· Ability to diagnose AC/DC motor faults
· Previous experience of working on High Voltage equipment is desirable, however, the willingness to complete a High Voltage course is essential
· A sound problem solving ability
· Good communication
· Sound technical knowledge of the processes and machinery
· Self motivated, focussed and able to work on own initiative
· High level of resilience and able to work effectively under pressure
