Job description
about the role
The mission activity focuses on networking tests in lab on Cisco and Juniper routers & switches.
1. Test in lab CISCO & Juniper routers and switches to validate & deliver stable software, functions and services to Operational teams for deployment on production networks.
· Specify and Execute regression tests to validate existing functions and services remain stable with new software to introduce in production networks
· Troubleshoot and Assess operational impact for any problem discovered in lab
· Deliver a zero default solution to Operational teams with documentation (configuration rules) & technical handover sessions
· Support Operational teams during pilot phase (first network implementation). Reproduce operational issues in lab when required, find possible solutions or test supplier fix.
2. Develop & Enhance network engineering lab and test-plans
· Maintain lab topology and configurations to keep lab representative of our production networks, function of new services, hardware & features deployed.
· Enrich test-plans on regular basis to adapt test to evolution of production networks (new bugs, configuration adjustments from testing return of experiment…).
3. A job evolution in the mid-term could include scripting and testing automation activity e.g. automate recurring tests on CISCO and Juniper routers.
about you
Technical skills
· Network protocols : strong knowledge in IP networking: TCP/IP, addressing, routing protocols (ISIS, MP-BGP…), MPLS L3 and L2 VPN services, Multicast.
· Ability to troubleshoot & isolate networking issues
· CISCO and /or Juniper CLI knowledge, be able to configure services end to end on various platforms
· Understanding of operational impact of issues for our customers
· Knowledge of IXIA network testers is a +
· System knowledge: Linux (e.g. need to troubleshoot or admin our lab Linux system on some cases), Windows
· A past experience in programming (even during university) or some scripting/programming skills (e.g. Python, Shell) would be a + (e.g. to automate/script some tests to optimize test execution).
Personal skills
· Team spirit oriented. Ability to work in team / share lab during tests, advise results and issues faced within the team.
· Autonomy & Flexibility as evolving in a changing environment
· Must be curious, 'investigator' minded but also results driven to keep deadlines.
· Ability to acquire quickly technical information, to organize himself to share parallel tasks and tests.
· Transversal competencies (ability to work with various teams remotely)
· Good communication & synthesis skills (Both written and oral)

Education and training
· Master’s degree or higher in Computer science, Engineering or Telecommunication
· Telecommunications education in a technical field (data processing, computers, telecom, networks)
Experience
· Around 2-5 years in telecommunications market with first experience as network engineer
· Previous experience in international environment is a +
Languages
· English: good level (be able to write and speak in technical environment with other engineers )
· Slovak for daily local exchanges is a real +
Geography : You will be located in Orange Business Services site hosting the current engineering lab in Bratislava. You will join a team composed of 5 network engineers (between 4 to 10 years of experience) on the same site, reporting to a manager located in Paris.
This team is part of Network Infrastructure Engineering (NIE) department (around 35 engineers total, other engineers located in France), responsible for engineering :
· the French and International Business backbone network
· the infrastructure Network Platforms (validation, regression test, features and HW validation….)
· the network Services evolution,
· the SDN/NFV infrastructure,
· the carriers interconnections.
Internal & External contacts
· Daily cooperative work with team engineers located in same site + team manager based in Paris
· Regular cooperative work with other engineers from NIE department located in France
· Regular technical exchanges with Operational teams located in France, Europe, North America and India.
· Almost daily exchange with Cisco engineer located on site to support lab issues & push fixes upon needs
· Regular exchange with remote CISCO /& Juniper engineers based in Europe, US & India
base salary from 1,380 € brutto per month, actual salary is likely to be higher based on skills, knowledge and experience.base
