Desired profile

Qualifications :

The successful incumbent is required to maintain the up keep of all guest rooms and corridors; to turn mattress and move heavy linen loads in between the laundry storeroom and the floors and to ensure that all public areas in the hotel are cleaned and maintained in accordance with Marriott International Policies and Procedures.

Required Experience & Qualifications

·  1 - 2 years' experience in Housekeeping in a 4 or 5 Star Hotel
·  Good communication skills
·  Ability to work without supervision
·  Customer / staff focused
·  Team orientation
·  Attention to detail
·  Preference will be given to South African Citizens.
Key Responsibilities

·  Cleaning of room corridors and assisting the Housekeeping employees on the room corridors to get the rooms ready.
·  Also to look after the back of house area on floors designated to you daily.
·  You have to report any breakages/damages to the relevant people immediately.
·  Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials.
·  Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional;
·  Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
·  Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation.
·  Speak with others using clear and professional language.
·  Support team to reach common goals.
·  Ability to push and pull work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.
·  Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects).
·  You can also be scheduled to work in the Soil Room, Public Area and Linen room, which you will receive the necessary training on when employed.
·  Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
