JOB SUMMARY
The Marriott Development Planning and Feasibility function in Asia Pacific focuses on providing competitive insights to support the decision-making
process of various disciplines within the organization such as Development, Brand and Operations. Primarily, the team is responsible for producing in
depth market and economic evaluations of potential business opportunities for all Marriott lodging products in Asia Pacific to support the Company
achieving its expansion goals in new markets and long-range growth strategy.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Skills and Competencies
· At least six months of internship/ work experience in hospitality real estate consulting, and/or financial analysis.
· Basic knowledge of the hospitality real estate industry, including hotel development planning and feasibility.
· Good quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
· Strong Excel and financial modeling, written and verbal presentation skills.
· Exceptional critical thinking, sound judgment, and strong business acumen.
· Keen attention-to-detail, high degree of initiative and resourcefulness, as well as a service-oriented attitude.
· Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
· Strong command of English language a must, Asian languages preferred.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Business Intelligence
Business Tools
· Update and maintain effective business/ analytical tools, including facilities criteria model, pro forma model, supply & demand model, etc.
· Support the institution and implementation of various workflow processes
· Support the creation of related decision-making tools, i.e. development strategies, brand recommendations, etc.
Business Resources
· Gather and maintain industry and competitor intelligence
· Liaise with various disciplines within the organization such as:
-Revenue Management and Finance for existing property financial/ operating intelligence; and
-Brand and Operations for brand designations and facilities standards.
Hotel Underwriting
· Carry out market research and competitive assessment through conducting desktop research, field work, site inspection and interviews.
· Formulate brand & facilities program recommendations.
· Author market study reports.
· Case studies for repositioning and renovation.
· Review projects post opening and other development strategies; draw learnings and recommend best practices going forward.
