Purpose of the mission:
You will manage teams and being accountable for the projects. You will keep contact with the technical environment writing, editing, validating, publishing and managing design, operational, maintenance and training manuals for the systems of our partners in various sectors (Defense, Railways, Space, Air traffic management). You will take part in all phases of technical documentation projects for complex systems: from the design of a technical documentation solution and manuals to the final and formal customer acceptance of the project.
Some of your main tasks will include:
- Managing LGM Teams of technical writers
- Managing project in terms of quality, cost, delays and risk
- Reporting to upper management and being responsible and accountable for the projects
- Working with LGM and customer teams to collect information and obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements,
- Analyzing systems and working with technical staff to optimize existing production and maintenance processes,
- Designing technical documentation solutions with regard to the complexity of the system and the optimum presentation for the end user,
- Analyzing and interpreting engineering data as well as manufacturing and assembling drawings,
- Authoring operational and maintenance procedures, descriptive parts, troubleshooting documents, etc.,
- Producing high-quality and well-structured documentation that meets the applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience,
- Adapting the documentation throughout the creation process by integrating comments and change requests of the team and client,
- Publishing technical manuals.
Your profile:
- You have a qualified degree in a relevant technical discipline, technical communications, technical authoring or similar qualification,
- You have a significant experience in technical writing about complex systems,
- You have the ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable to others,
- You know how to interpret technical drawings and schematics,
- You have a strong working knowledge of:
o Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word and Excel, …),
o Adobe products (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, …),
o S1000D,
o ATA 2200,
o VBA or a comparable programming language,
- You have advanced skills in text processing and generation of digital documentations,
- Your written and spoken English is fluent,
- (for Germany) A knowledge of written and spoken German would be appreciated,
- You are able to work with people from very diverse backgrounds: engineers, illustrators, technicians…
- You have an open, proactive approach to your work and an interest in developing your skills.
