Patent Liaison

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

In support of the United States & Brazil Research & Innovation labs with Right To Market (RTM) clearance for all product launches. In this role you will:

·  Help attorneys and agents review relevant patents.
·  Finalize RTM clearance reports for new products.
·  Master processing and tracking of RTM requests from the labs; including checking all required product information and parent formulas, interacting efficiently with the labs to streamline submissions and approvals.
·  Train junior patent liaison team members on various RTM processes and administrative matters
·  Conduct preliminary screening of formulas; retrieve and review relevant patent information in internal databases; review patent search reports and check patent families and patent legal status
·  Set up competitor patent alerts; retrieval of legal status updates and prosecution history updates of pending patent applications in various patent offices
·  Attend lab office hours with patent attorneys and agency.
·  Assist and train labs on RTM submissions

SKILLS/BACKGROUND:

·  Bachelor or Master's in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, biochemistry or related field with courses in organic chemistry I and II
·  Excellent computer skills
·  Experience with Microsoft Office applications
·  Experience conducting online searches on the internet and in web based databases
·  Excellent organizational and analytical skills
·  Strong communication and writing skills
·  Familiarity with cosmetic formulas and ingredients
·  Research experience is preferred
