Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a CNC Machinist – 2nd Shift that will be located in West Chester, PA.

The CNC Machinist will:
• Set up and operation of diverse types of equipment used to manufacture various types of medical instruments/implants within established manufacturing processes, GMP's, and quality requirements
• Produce parts in accordance with the production plan provided by the manufacturing supervisor. Equipment used will be CNC Swiss turns, lathes, mills, and chuckers, as well as other secondary machines including, but not limited to, various types of grinders, drill presses, jack rabbits, buffers, mass finishers, etc.
• Optimize production by performing secondary work such as deburring, vibratory, and any hand work as well as preparing for the next job, organizing and cleaning the cell, and helping others to do the same while machines are running
• Perform first piece inspection and in-process quality checks
• Perform preventative maintenance on a regular basis
• Provide input to cell leader/supervisor to resolve quality problems and improve cell operations
• Stay on task and within the cell to help meet or beat the team’s production requirements
• Know and follow all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times
• Diligently participate in our compliance program-related activities as denoted by your supervisor or our Chief Compliance Officer
• Perform other related duties, as required

Desired profile

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
• Additional education and/or training within this field is preferred
• A minimum of 2 years of experience within a manufacturing environment is required
• A minimum of 1 year of experience of setting up and operating CNC machines (mills and/or lathes) is required
• Current or previous experience with hand held mechanical devices (e.g. micrometers, calipers, hand gage pins, drop indicators, etc.) is required
• Swiss turn experience, buffing and deburring experience is preferred
• Ability to correctly and punctually complete documentation in accordance with Johnson and Johnson quality systems and adhere to work instructions and processes is required
• Must have good math skills and the ability to apply working knowledge of metrics and conversions
• Basic computer skills are also required
• Must be able to perform in both an individual and a team environment
• Must have the ability to communicate with internal and external individuals

This position is located in West Chester, PA and requires a daily commute Monday – Friday for the 2nd shift working hours of 2:30 PM – 11 PM with occasional overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.
