Job description

Job Description

As the leading supplier of data center platforms, Intel collaborates with world class partners to prototype advanced solutions platform, system SW and APIs for large-scale high-performance computing HPC and High Performance Data Analytics HPDA usage scenarios. The ExaCluster Laboratory is a collaboration of Intel with the Juelich Supercomputer Center JSC established in 2010.

Activities in this lab include European government-funded R&D projects DEEP-EST and NEXTGenIO and tight collaborations with supercomputer centers at Barcelona and Edinburgh. The job offered encompasses the design and implementation/extension of runtime software layers responsible for resource management, orchestration and scheduling for the DEEP-EST R&D project. Work will be based on the Open Source SLURM system, and the objective is to support a novel, modular system architecture for HPC and HPDA data centers that is being developed in the project, and a mix of highly parallel and potentially heterogeneous workloads. The candidate accepted will work full-time for the DEEP-EST project as part of the Intel project team. The employment contract is aligned with the term of the DEEP-EST project and will therefore run for the duration of 3 years. Possible locations for the position include an office at JSC in Juelich, Germany, or Intel's sites in Munich.
