Position: Development Operations Engineer / DevOps Engineer
Location: Ann Arbor, MI
Job Description:
Responsible for working with engineering, product support, and other operational teams in order to provide technical guidance for the decision support systems and products of Watson Health. This will require the operational testing, support, and maintenance of database and analytic software.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Work with front-line product support and product engineering teams to troubleshoot operational testing and production issues.
· Coordinate with product engineering and monitor tasks for multiple revisions and platforms of application software.
· Estimate and plan operational work, track and report on task progress, and ensure we deliver work on schedule.
· Work within a structured development environment that includes version control, automated unit testing, and design reviews.
· Facilitate new product/software releases user acceptance testing among various stakeholders.
· Work with stakeholders to identify resources for user acceptance testing.
· Identify gaps in current testing processes to achieve greater efficiency.
· Participate in the design, development and testing of software releases.
Required Professional and Technical Expertise:
· Very strong problem solving and analytical skills.
· Capable of identifying issues and driving them to resolution.
· Ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing environments.
· Ability to estimate and track project/task timelines.
· Ability to work independently while in a team environment.
· Strong teamwork and communication skills.
· Previous experience with programming languages, UNIX/LINUX, Windows platforms, GIT, Jenkins, and Oracle database queries.
Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise:
· Experience with Perl, Java, Apache Tomcat, OpenAM, or Hadoop a plus.
· Proven ability to work with limited supervision.
· Product management experience. Required Education:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
