UI Designer

Position Description
CGI is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of ground systems for spacecraft monitoring and control and data processing. We are seeking talented junior and experienced engineers to further strengthen our team and help us deliver some of the most exciting and complex ground systems in Europe. Our team is based in Darmstadt, Germany, cooperating with other teams and consultants in locations across multiple European countries.
With our global client base there are many opportunities for travel and for longer assignments both within Germany and overseas.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Requirements and interface documents analysis
• Design, implementation and maintenance of User Interfaces
• Direct interaction with the customer

You are a proactive, independent problem solver yet also a great team player. You thrive on solving complex tasks in a challenging environment and enjoy supporting your team colleagues. You are always trying to learn and improve your skills and abilities to the benefit of you and the team.

Mandatory
• University degree in IT or similar (Bachelor, Master, PhD or equivalent).
• Expertise in Microsoft Visio
• Familiarity with working in Windows Environment
• Experience in common software lifecycles and agile development processes
• Experience in continuous integration tools
• Familiarity with modern software architecture and frameworks
• Fluency in English (written / spoken)

Desired
• Expertise in Object Oriented programming language (ideally C#)
• Experience in interaction with customer and ideally with control systems operators
• Experience working in the space industry
• Familiarity with working in Linux Environment
• Experience in SCOS-2000, or other commercial, institutional or open source mission control system platforms, or in ground station monitoring & control systems
• Experience in space industry standards such as ECSS and CCSDS
• Passion about space
