Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC's global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cloud engineers, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.

Following extensive investment across our Data Management estate and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2020 and beyond, we are currently seeking a Enterprise Architect to join HSBC Technology to focus on our Master Data approaches and designs.

The Technology Enterprise Architect job is responsible for shaping the architecture roadmap within HSBC and implementing technology strategy. This job has two primary areas of responsibility these are, to define, maintain and own the enterprise architecture plan, ensuring alignment to HSBC Technology strategies and to provide overarching Design Authority accountability for major change initiatives across the Group.

What you will be doing;

· Finding the best tech solution among all possible to solve the existing business problems.
· Identifying creative ways to work in a world with increasingly varied approaches and appetites to data privacy
· Describing the structure, characteristics, behaviour, and other aspects of software to project stakeholders.
· Suggesting ways to modernise a data landscape with a heritage in regular processes to a landscape exploiting eventing and streaming approaches
· Defining features, phases, and solution requirements.
· Providing specifications according to which the solution is defined, managed, and delivered
· Making application meet various security requirements like data security, application security, privacy protection, cyber security. The solutions designed should meet the security requirements prescribed by HSBC

What you will bring to the role;

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

·  Ideally degree educated or the equivalent.
·  Experience of global solutions to data management
·  Knowledge, understanding and translating programme objectives and aligning directions accordingly
·  Ambitions around providing the highest standards of delivery
·  Stretching goals for self and teams and delivering them with courage and tenacity
·  Authentically engaging with team, colleagues and business partners to deliver at pace
·  Skills in considered decisions that protect and enhance HSBC values, reputation and business
·  Ability in connecting the teams with your external network to stay informed on approaches outside the bank.
