The Legal Department of HPE is looking for a qualified

LEGAL COUNSEL AUSTRIA (f/m)

Responsibilities:

·  Acts as primary legal support to regional and country management, business units and functions for direct and indirect sales and for marketing, distribution, supply chain, and operations
·  Provides legal subject matter expertise for commercial, antitrust, employment, company secretarial, post-acquisition merger and acquisition (M&A), litigation and local regulatory compliance matters
·  Participates in country management teams
·  Provides institutional knowledge, support, and fiduciary oversight in relation to corporate and local governance standards, policies, process, and reporting requirements
·  Manages local external legal counsel and associated budgets
·  Drafts, reviews and negotiates various kinds of business agreements and other legal documents, including structuring, negotiating and closing complex deals, often in multi-country transactions
·  Promotes legal awareness and lead legal training to business teams, managers and team members
·  Collaborates seamlessly with the wider Legal Department providing advice and information to other teams such as Ethics & Compliance, Data Privacy, Government Relations, Security, HR and Intellectual Property
·  Provides legal contracting support with regards to business opportunities in Austria and in Switzerland
·  Develops new ideas and methods to effectively address recurring legal issues or matters facing an aligned country or region

Education and Experience Required:

·  Advanced Austrian degree in law (Rechtsanwaltsprüfung)
·  Typically 2 - 4 years commercial legal experience at a law firm or in-house

Knowledge and Skills:

·  Advanced breadth and depth of practical legal and relevant business knowledge specific to a country/region
·  Strong knowledge of local/regional laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
·  In-depth awareness of the international legal environment
·  Advanced skills and experience in negotiating or advising on complex, high value/risk matters or in specific practice areas
·  Proactive and effective communicator of valuable information to clients and colleagues
·  English and German language skills to business standard are essential. Additional language skills are welcome.
·  Willingness to travel occasionally

We are legally obliged to quote the KV minimum salary (related to KV Handel für Angestellte) for the position (€ 34.269 gross annual salary with 38,5 h/w).

For this role an annual salary starting at  € 60.000 (All-In) is planned - with the willingness to pay significantly more depending on individual experience and qualification plus an extensive benefits program.
