Role Summary/Purpose
As a working student/intern on IoT solutions for additive manufacturing shop-floor, you will be part of GE Additive’s Customer Experience Center team. Your focus will be on how additive manufacturing connects to the digital thread.
Essential Responsibilities
· Developing shop-floor specific IoT solutions for a machine hall at GE Additive's newest Customer Experience Center, with focus on at least one of the following:
· Supporting the setup of sensor clusters for measuring particle level, temperature, humidity, etc. on the shop-floor
· Developing software to acquire sensory data and to process such data to enable auto-calibration of ambient LEDs, auto-update of digital signage, generating notifications, etc.
· Creating a novel data visualization design for accessing relevant sensory data and improving the UI of current digital signage
· Defining optimal ways of integration between Predix cloud- and gateway-based software products as well as third-party hardware and software

Desired Characteristics
· Experience working with Amazon Cloud, MS Azure or Google Cloud Engine is a plus
· Basic software development skills in languages such as Java, JavaScript/ECMAscript, C#, Go, Python, Ruby, etc.
· Basic knowledge of key industrial technologies and protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, AMQP, etc.)
