Essential Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to drive growth in business cooperation between GE Power and China supplier base.
• Ensure supplier quality system, product quality and process compliance to meet drawing and spec requirements
• Be the technical focal point for supplier activities directed toward process control and quality assurance of Power Generation components. Establish a structured approach for consistency and adherence to quality procedures and requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to suppliers to assure product / process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications and frozen Manufacturing Process Plans.
• Lead and work closely with various divisions of GE Power for First Piece Qualification (FPQ), Conduct regular quality Surveillance, process and product audit and capacity audits.
• Perform the inspection on FPQ and mass production parts. Conduct the regular process, product, QMS and SRG audits at supplier site and the daily surveillance for the compliance
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Actions (CA) for the quality issues and drive the supplier improvements through CA and preventative actions
• Verify supplier production planning, track supplier raw material purchasing, follow up the manufacturing progress to ensure the OTD and expedite the manufacturing to meet the business short cycle and urgent demands
• Overall planning and execution to drive the supplier growth for the capacity management through process optimization and additional resources qualification
• Drive continuous improvements of supplier’s quality, cycle reduction and delivery performance through Lean Six Sigma methodology.
• Work closely with GE Power Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Engineering to eliminate roadblocks and communication barriers that may affect quality and delivery requirements.
• Aid in supplier approval process – manufacturing, technology, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) risk analysis and commodity assessment
• Track and work on Request for Quotation (RFQ) to support new business opportunities.
• Provide technical guidance to suppliers to assure product / process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications and frozen Manufacturing Process Plans.
• Other duties and assignments in supplier management and project management
Qualifications/Requirements

• BS/MS Forging / Material Degree. Hands-on experience in supplier development – practical manufacturing (shop floor) exposure.
• Required to have working experience in forging / manufacturing engineer for stainless steel materials. Shaft and Rings forging experience (free and closed die forging) is required. with quality control, audit and project management skills and experience.
• Familiar with heat treatment technical requirement, the system management and quality control. the steel mill knowledge, the NDT and the machining experience on the ring forging and shaft is highly valued.
• Supplier quality management or supplier technical development experience preferred.
• Working experience with metallurgical, ASTM standards and their relationship to manufacturing processes is highly valued. Familiar with ISO9001 or AS9100.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: background in interpretation of engineering drawings/specifications, metrology, and manufacturing process planning/evaluation.
• Ability to work in cross-functional, global team environment with good teamwork spirit.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with different levels of people.
