Role Summary/Purpose
The Supplier Quality Engineer will collaborate with Production, Engineering, Project Management, Site Quality Team and Global Sourcing team on all activities required to effectively manage supplier quality requirements & supplier development. The candidate will actively drive root cause analysis, qualifications and surveillances (audits) with the suppliers directly.
Essential Responsibilities
· Manage & execute the supplier qualification process (First part approvals) and supplier surveillance process (audits)
· Work effectively with internal and external parties to eliminate any barriers that may affect the quality and delivery of sourced components
· Monitor supplier non-conformances & cost of failure and drive root-cause-analysis, corrective actions, process improvements and support cost recovery efforts
· Support global sourcing quality initiatives and metrics
· Leading a cross-functional team including the supplier to drive issue resolution and improvement activities
· Technical focal point for supplier activities directed toward process control and quality assurance
· Drive continuous improvement of supplier's quality performance through Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma principles and methodology
Qualifications/Requirements
· Engineering degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge and experience
· Proven experience in Engineering with an Electronics/ Machining/ Fabrication background
· Demonstrated project management skills.
· demonstrated (supplier) quality or related experience (RCA, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Process-, Product-Audits,..)
