Role Summary/Purpose
The Staff UX Design Technologist will collaborate with co-located talented full stack software engineers to design and develop GE Digital's identity management solution interface. The Staff UX Design Technologist you will bridge the gap between design and technology bringing a unique understanding of the importance of human-centered design and the implication of technology on end user experiences.
Essential Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
· Participate as a team member in design validation sessions; execute design technology tasks as
assigned in detail
· Execute on multiple small and medium sized projects as assigned in a cross-functional environment
· Demonstrate awareness of the software development process and how UX designers can best
support development efforts
· Articulates the pros/cons of specific technology with regards to the user experience of a given
product/service
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Design or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)
· A minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in web/mobile app development OR Master’s
degree with 3 years of experience web/mobile app development
Eligibility Requirements:
· Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
· Must be willing to travel up to 10%
· Must be willing to work out of an office located in Cincinnati, OH
Desired Characteristics
· Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and principals of responsive design and modern software development workflows
· Able to create complex interactive prototypes (in code) to express interactive design ideas based upon user and stakeholder input and feedback.
· Basic understanding of Front-End Framework Architecture (e.g. Angular.js, Ember.js, React etc.) and how to use and optimize them
