Role Summary/Purpose

The Senior Engineering Manager is responsible for organizational management of the Electrical Engineering team in CCS- ARC located in Bangalore. The ARC business provides a dynamic and global environment. The engineering manager is a key leadership position within the global CCS-ARC organization and will be responsible for driving the growth of GE’s ARC segment through disruptive technology innovation and NPI program development.
Essential Responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate global leadership skills across Electrical Engineering discipline by leading 12+ Electrical engineers in Bangalore.

Primary responsibility of this leader is to provide guidance & coaching to the engineers and program leaders in the team while working cross-functionally with global functional/program managers, technology leaders and downstream clinical applications and sales teams to ensure on-time execution with on-target quality and cost of new product development programs. The leader will be expected to develop a highly energized and motivated Electrical engineering team fostering collaboration with global ARC engineering make centers to share designs & best practices and work with engineering & business leaders to develop the technology roadmap for Bangalore ARC team.

Key responsibilities include:
-Set goals and objectives for the team aligned with the business goals and objective and monitor them to ensure successful team deliverable.
-Drive performance management and salary planning of the team.
-Attract, develop, coach, motivate and retain key engineering talent to deliver results.
-Ensure team’s adherence to quality and compliance.
-Instilling a rigorous approach to target costing for new products and driving cost out of existing products(VCP)
-Leading change through creative solutions to unstructured product and system design issues
-Optimizing team’s participation in all phases of product development
-Supporting existing products within Manufacturing, Sourcing, Service and Supplier Quality Engineering
-Resource management by working closely with program managers to assign, monitor and continually assess multiple projects simultaneously and make priority calls based on business objectives and associated risks
-Headcount and base cost budget management
-Act as the change agent for the team – continuously improving both tools and processes working with the program leadership team.
-Optimize team’s participation in all phases of product development

Quality specific goals:
-Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
-Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
-Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
-Drive compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Outputs/Program Deliverables
-Identify continuous improvement activities by initiating the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate in Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation / Biomedical Engineering or equivalent
- 12-15 years of overall engineering design experience
-At least 3 years of experience leading large projects and teams
-Experience in engineering functional management through atleast 2+ complete product life-cycles
-Experience in digital/analog electronic product development , experience in delivering idea to product development
-Proven experience working with global development teams and building close working relationships to drive and nurture positive relations with other make centers.
-Knowledge of the entire product development cycle and experience in new product introduction
-Proven skills in team building, leading innovation from high-level definition and design through multi-generation product breakthrough strategies
-Strong influencing skills and communication skills
-Has personally championed compliance & quality initiatives
-Demonstrated analytical skills
-Willingness to travel globally
