Role Summary/Purpose

The Hybrid Electric Systems team is working to advance the start in the development of components & systems for future advanced propulsion systems. The Senior Technologist will play a critical role in the hybrid team, demonstrating leadership in communicating business goals / programs / processes & the ability to engage across GE globally & with industrial and academic partners.
Essential Responsibilities

·  The role Senior Technologist contributes directly to the Aviation blueprint & has the ability to effect short & long-term business goals.
In addition, as the Senior Technologist for Product Definition design will:

·  Develop new applications of technology for product development and be an expert user of critical technology for electrical power generation, conversion and distribution components for aviation applications

·  Perform design, drafting and system integration activities of electrical power system components including AC / DC converters / inverters, motor-generators, control systems and integration with Gas turbines.

·  Collaborate and support mechanical, electrical and controls/software teams as well as support manufacturing and test of electrical power systems

·  Own and maintain product definition, including configuration management and systems product definition in compliance with GE Aviation standards

·  Support resolutions of challenging technical issues related to hybrid electric power systems communicate findings to a diverse technical range of audience

·  Demonstrate technical leadership in communicating the business goal, programs and processes for and area of business segment
Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering field from an accredited College or University (OR Master's Degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in hardware design and development for aviation applications)

Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering

Only current employees within the Aviation Engineering Division will be considered
Desired Characteristics

·  Minimum of 5 years of experience in gas turbine hardware design and development for aviation applications

·  Strong oral and written communication skills

·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

·  Ability to influence others and lead small teams

·  Prior work experience in aerospace power generation / conversion products

·  Knowledge of aviation industry, standards and regulations

·  Proven expertise hardware design and systems product definition.

·  Capable of generating detailed hardware drawing specifications, Interface Control Documents, work with customers and partners to optimize system requirements
