Role Summary/Purpose

This position is responsible for generating growth in orders and market share for products in a region by developing and executing on a regional product/portfolio strategy including market segmentation, targeting, product positioning, and installed base retention. The position is also responsible for supporting future product planning by identifying market trends, relevant buying centers and personas, and customer needs.
Essential Responsibilities

Product/Portfolio Strategy
1. Create and execute on a regional product/portfolio plan that is aligned with global marketing plans (value proposition, positioning, marketing mix, etc.) to grow orders and market share. The plan may employ clinical and industry trend analysis, market share and competitive insights, visibility and win rate information, install base and end of product life information.

2. Track the success of the product/portfolio plan by collecting win/loss & competitive insight on product portfolios at regional level; recommend and develop marketing tactics to adjust and improve win rate.

Marketing Program Budget
1. Working with Field Marketing organization on interlocks to determine region program budgets.

New Product Introduction
1. Conduct in depth research to define customer problem statement, success metrics, clinical and economic needs, buying cycles, and personas (to support development of global MRD).
2. Provide region input to business cases for products/upgrades that are at concept stage, work with Global Product Marketing to develop, test and prototype new product ideas.
3. Form and lead a cross-functional team to launch and support a new product: the team may include representatives from the Global Product Team, regional Commercial Team, Channel teams, Pricing, Applications and Service.
4. Identify and establish reference sites, product-specific KOL’s and advisory boards.
5. Validating global value proposition and messaging and adapt for regional use.
6. Determine a pricing strategy and determine product contribution margin.
7. Adapt global marketing assets (including sales tools) to ensure that the region commercial teams (direct and indirect) has the right tools to position and sell product configurations / portfolio effectively.
8. Coordinate product training for commercial teams (direct and indirect) by leveraging Global Product Marketing and Global Product Management support.
9. Provide commercial teams (direct and indirect) with account targets, product positioning, competitor and pricing information.
10. Collaborate with commercial leadership and global marketing /to develop the market order and sales forecast.
Qualifications/Requirements

2. Complete all planned quality and compliance training within the defined deadlines.

4. Responsible for ensuring legal and regulatory approval of all marketing communications prior to external release.
Desired Characteristics

1. Bachelor’s Degree in a Scientific, Engineering, Finance or related field. Postgraduate studies in Business Administration or Marketing would be advantageous.
2. 3+ years’ experience in marketing, product marketing or related field. Sales experience would be advantageous.
3. Leadership skills to lead teams and shape/lead growth vision and marketing strategy.
4. Team oriented – ability to motivate and lead diverse, cross-functional teams.
5. Excellent oral and written communications skills (Japanese and English).
6. Strong analytical and process skills.
