Role Summary/Purpose

In this key role you will automate, test and develop Cloud applications ensuring quality releases using Enterprise Agile methodologies. Working with the latest QA industry tools like Unified Functional Tester, Selenium, Protractor, and Java you will create automated test plans integrated with CI/CD pipelines. You will be an integral part of the development team, working together with talented software developers and other QA engineers to bring state of the art applications to market.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Demonstrates increasing expertise in application domain and functional areas.

·  Applies various testing types and methodologies effectively during SDLC.

·  Takes ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary.

·  Applies principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing Techniques.

·  Writes effective tests according to best practices so that crucial functional requirements are verified and tests remain valid when code is refactored.

·  Begins to collaborate with development team in bugs fixing and build plans.

·  Collaborates with Quality Leaders in creating test plans. Implements and configures testing tools and at times help junior staff. Implements system-level integration testing.

·  Skilled in core data structures and algorithms.
Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

·  A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, with considerable class and lab hands on experience, or a HS Diploma or GED with 2+ Years’ experience as a QA Engineer or Software Developer

Eligibility Requirements:

·  Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job

·  Must be willing to travel

·  Must be willing to work out of an office located in Chicago
Desired Characteristics

Technical Abilities:

·  Experience developing GUI and API test scripts using HP Unified Functional Tester, Protractor and/or Selenium automated testing tools

·  Object-oriented (OO) development experience and automation scripting are a must

·  REST and Java experience a plus

·  Good understanding of Agile software development lifecycle

Business Acumen:

·  Have a solid understanding of the underlying infrastructure needed to run a large distributed web application

·  Has the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks

·  Has the ability to make basic technology choices based on experience

·  Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry

·  Personal drive to achieve world class software development
