Role Summary/Purpose
The Production Technician will perform a variety of duties, to include: Pre-Molding, Molding, Infusion, Closing, Cut & Trim, Finishing, and Assembly of wind turbine blades.
Essential Responsibilities
-Follow work instructions and quality specifications throughout the different processes of blade production.
-Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, blade defects and unusual conditions to Team Lead and/or Supervisor.
-Responsible for meeting 5S, Safety, Quality, and Accuracy standards.
-Follow the work instructions without deviation to ensure quality and accuracy compliance
-Actively communicate and support daily production goals.
-Partner with team members to drive best practices on the shop floor.
-Actively participate and understand the use visual boards at the start/middle/end of shift.
-Provide input to supervisor(s) on new employee training and performance.
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma)
Ability and willingness to work a 12 hour shift and stand for extended periods on concrete floors
Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule - start & end of shift variations
Ability and willingness to lift/carry objects and/or materials up to 25 pounds
Ability and willingness to wear a respirator and tyvek suit to filter out toxic fumes and dust
Ability and willingness to make quick or repeated movement (holding, reaching, twisting, bending) with hands, arms, legs, or body
Support the training of new employees per supervisor's instructions
Perform other tasks per supervisor's instructions
Desired Characteristics
Minimum of one (1) year of related experience. Steady work longevity in non-related industries may be taken into consideration.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend applicable information (i.e., written instructions, procedures/specifications that apply to daily work operations, etc.)
Ability to make quick decisions and willingness to act on those decisions
Ability to use hand tools (pliers, wrenches, hammers, etc.)
Ability to read work blueprints/instructions
