Role Summary/Purpose

The Process Engineer is an Engineering role supporting all FBM Machining processes focused on Rough & Finish Milling & Blending. Goal of this role is to support process improvement efforts, and daily support of our many machining processes in the Forge Broach Machine (FBM) Business in GE Rutland.
Essential Responsibilities

In addition, as the Process Engineer, you will:

·  Define and control machining processed including:
·  Tooling
·  Equipment
·  Development
·  and PM / Equipment Continuity Plan

·  Support diverse and complex products in :
·  Large & Small Engine Military
·  CF6 / LM
·  GEnx
·  and other hardware
·  Multiple VMC’s makes / models, and approaches used to finish machine this diverse product family

·  Create & optimize production to support the operators & shop floor’s daily production needs

·  Maintain a very high standard of quality

·  Interface with Product Engineers, Product Quality Team, and Operators daily

·  Direct & Mentor the area Machining Techs in working to solve problems and develop them as core support members in the FBM business

·  Directly responsible for Continuous Improvement efforts in our many machining processes

·  Support Lean Transformation In-Process within the Value Stream

·  Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment

·  Develop new solutions under guidance / team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations

·  Work together with business leadership at SPB and EB level

·  Specify needs, communicate about project approach and present outcomes of research done

·  Work effectively on cross functional teams

·  Lead analytical and design activities using proven technologies & vested approaches and methods

·  Help with new equipment procurement to replace degrading equipment and introduce new cells

·  Work to help update & simplify our machining & programming standards within the FBM business

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)

·  Minimum of 3 years of experience in Production, Process, and Equipment
