Role Summary/Purpose

In the role of Logistics and Compliance Specialist, you will:
Essential Responsibilities

·  Generate invoices for all sales shipments through SAP and verify information

·  Prepare all other export documents such as SED’s Shipper’s Letter of Instruction (SLI) and request Carnet’s

·  Implement process improvements where possible
·  Report out to management as situations dictate

·  Train others in the processes and procedures necessary for job function
·  Use AES system to request ITN numbers for all courier shipments over $2500

·  Put together daily consolidation and request bookings on Expediter's Expo system

·  Run SAP blocked HTS report and request classifications when needed

·  Coordinate special shipments with GE logistics team both inbound and outbound from vendors

·  Prepare documents for non sales shipments

·  Verify SAP orders are correct
·  Work with governing bodies on high-sea sales shipments and coordinate direct airline rush shipments

·  Respond to all requests for tracking information

·  Work with our customs group on imports when needed
·  Interface with order entry

·  Work closely with shipping supervisor and shipping personal

·  Respond to all email’s regarding export issues

·  Matchup AES filings with appropriate orders when received for compliance purposes
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (OR Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum 5 years of experience in Import / export control) (OR High School Diploma /GED from an accredited school or institution and a minimum 7 years of experience in import / export control)

·  Minimum 3 years of experience in Import / export control

Eligibility Requirement:

·  Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening
Desired Characteristics

·  Must be trained in export compliance and the AES system

·  Ensure export regulations are complied with

·  Have experience preparing all types of export documents, invoices, SLI’s, and Carnets

·  Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines

·  Has experience using SAP

·  Experience working with freight forwarders for both air and ocean shipments

·  Be able to work closely with GE compliance and order entry

·  Knowledge of how to classify product, Harmonized Tariff Codes

·  Experience using DHL, UPS and Fedex Systems

·  Must be able to interface well with both internal and external groups

·  Maintain all export files according to regulations
