Role Summary/Purpose
The Lean Training and Development Leader leads and develops comprehensive hands on lean training activities across GE Power globally. This role works closely with the Lean Operations Leader and contributes to the overall strategy to reduce inventory and lead-times at our factories and suppliers.
Essential Responsibilities
As the Lean Training and Development Leader, you will:
· Deliver effective global lean training programs focused on transformational / hands on shop floor and functional groups impact
· Apply Lean tools and principles to help teams drive continuous improvements
· Use VSM (Value Stream Map methodology) as the diagnostic tool to define desired future state
· Work with lean operations leaders to develop strategic deployment planning, help establish transformational vision, deploy and improve current lean depository training, and develop curriculum to spread lean principles / concepts across the business
· Serve as a change agent by influencing, communicating and institutionalizing a culture of simplification and standardization
· Coach / train plants and other central functions, such as sourcing, materials, and engineering in the use of Lean tools and the simplification methodology to drive significant business impact
· Establish appropriate operating rhythms with key stake holders to provide regular training, coaching and plan training action workouts
· Seek, share and institutionalize best practices
· Develop Lean Academy in Power
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college and/or equivalent knowledge / experience
· Significant, relevant work experience ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability and willingness to travel extensively to international sites, as required
Desired Characteristics
· Understanding of Lean tool-set with proven results
· Experienced lean practitioner (roadmaps, strategy, experience in lean transformations)
· Experience with Lean AWOs of various types (VSM, 5S, TPM, Standard Work, etc.)
· Change agent with strong credibility and influence in the organization
· Ability to lead >25 individuals
· Demonstrated ability to motivate others and achieve results
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Facilitator experience
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
· Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
· Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
· Established project management skills
