Role Summary/Purpose

The role of Embedded SW Development Engineer will be working alongside a team of engineers of varying experience to support the design, development and verification of the embedded avionics software for a Flight Management System (FMS).
Essential Responsibilities

In addition, as the Embedded SW Development Engineer, you will:

·  Review system specifications

·  Author and validate high level requirements, verification strategies, test cases and test procedures for FMS embedded software

·  Generate and validate low level design material, verification strategies, test cases and test procedures for FMS embedded software

·  Participate in software structural coverage analysis

·  Work in a multidisciplinary team

·  Identify, evaluate and develop engineering tools / processes necessary to meet engineering and business goals

·  Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments while maintaining a focus on safety and reliability

·  Conduct Problem Report (PR) investigation and resolution
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.

·  Ability and willingness to travel a minimum of 10% of the time

·  This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment
Desired Characteristics

·  Exposure to embedded software development

·  Exposure to using Ada, VB, C and/or C++ languages

·  Minimum of 1 year of experience in embedded product development

·  Willingness and motivation to learn new processes and tools

·  Strong oral and written communication skills

·  Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

·  Capable of developing and writing specifications in an engineering environment

·  Participate in a team as a team player

·  Ability to provide most cost effective and technically correct solution
