Role Summary/Purpose

Big data and machine learning are transforming the field of healthcare. GE has recently set up a new organization in Helsinki to develop analytics tools that will help clinicians to make faster and more accurate care decisions for the improved safety and health of their patients. 

Are you an expert in developing and delivering solutions in advanced analytics? We are looking for a Data Scientist for a medical technology development team.

Essential Responsibilities

·  Develop machine learning algorithms that solve challenging clinical problems

·  Management, curation, and analysis of multiple-source clinical data

·  Delivery of analytics products in a regulated environment

·  Collaborate efficiently in a cross-functional team with medical, clinical, engineering and marketing expertise
Qualifications/Requirements

·  MSc level education or equivalent in data science (or other applicable field) and relevant working experience

·  Good command of the relevant programming languages (especially Python), development frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Theano, TensorFlow), database tools (SQL), and operating systems

·  Experience in creating and evaluating prototypes for advanced analytics

·  Good communication and presentation skills, fluency in English, both spoken and written

·  EU work permit
Desired Characteristics

·  PhD in machine learning, data science or another applicable field (or equivalent knowledge/experience)

·  Product development experience in a highly regulated environment

·  Experience in big data analytics, deploying in the cloud, and producing production-level code

·  Skilled in building large-scale data processing pipelines with real-world data sets

·  Experience in time series data analytics, biomedical signal analysis, signal processing
