Role Summary/Purpose
The Commercial Manager (CM) will be responsible for the leadership and coordination of all aspects of the ITO phase of from proposal management to contract negotiation and closure including proposal development, risk management and mitigation strategy, specification compliance, scope development, pricing, contract structure, negotiation and issue resolution for contractual agreement to which he/she is allocated.
Essential Responsibilities
*Ensure Policy 5.0 (R Process) is followed for each opportunity
*Perform initial risk evaluation and determine feasibility and bid compliance concerns
*Conduct formal R1 where required
*Provide full proposal leadership from initial enquiry to deal closure and handover (track key dates and proposal submission deadlines)
*Support technical scope and pricing development
*Coordinate with various internal teams in completing the proposal – sales, finance, execution, risk, legal, engineering, etc.
*Ensure Risk Checklist & DOA are correctly reviewed & completed for all proposals.
*Propose and support formal R2 to obtain pricing/deviation approvals where required (regional and HQ)
*Generate final proposal with approved deviations/language as required
*Lead or support the contract negotiation phase including manage documentation, customer’s request and co-ordinate with internal team for contract drafting and resolution for contract closing
*Document all deal related documents
*Use appropriate tools to support project and business requirement e.g. NEX, ICAM, MINI, Documentum, Tableau, JCE, oCPQ, workflow documents, etc.
*Support sales in deal closing process as & when appropriate.
*Send order acknowledgements, obtain contract signatures and ensure internal order booking is completed on-time
*Conduct formal R3 review to identify and handover execution requirements/documents
Qualifications/Requirements
*Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
* At least 5 additional years of experience in industry-related commercial and/or application engineering
*At least 2 years commercial experience
Desired Characteristics
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred
* Master's degree in Business Administration is preferred
* Prior commercial sales experience in closing large and complex agreements is preferred
* Prior experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation
* Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to respond quickly
* Strong coordination and influencing skills
* Knowledge of customer financial drivers / needs
* Able to effectively lead and energize a multi-functional team to meet sales plan
* Able to provide basic financial analysis and contract risk profile
* Experience in Long-term Maintenance Contract negotiation and drafting is preferred
* Ability to utilize analytical software and sales tools
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
