Role Summary/Purpose
We are seeking a Mobile Boom Truck Operator with Class B CDL for their Service Center in Andrews, TX. The Boom Truck Operator is responsible to ensure the safe and compliant operation of Boom Truck and maintenance.
Essential Responsibilities
In the role of Boom Truck Operator you will:
· Review and sign the last daily vehicle inspection report (DVIR) and conducts daily truck pre-trip inspections (i.e. tires, oil, brakes, water, lighting, horn, wipers, mirrors, fuel, etc.)
· Report any issues with truck by communicating with Supervisor for immediate repair or completes DVIR for less minor repairs
· Conduct daily inspection and completes proper paperwork
· Review what product is loaded on truck to ensure proper delivery of products; Ensures that he/she understands delivery instructions
· Secure loads by utilizing chains, binders, straps, slings, etc. to ensure that product/loads are safely secured to transport. Ensure that proper tie down technique is used to safeguard product and ensure road safety
· Ensure that he/she has all proper safety equipment (i.e. – hard hat, gloves, safety shoes, vests, safety glasses, fire extinguisher, spill kit, accident kit, etc.)
· Ensure that truck and products do not exceed the maximum weight limits for transport
· Ensure that area is safe to properly off load product and the surrounding area is secure and does not pose any safety hazards
· Maintain travel logs to ensure that company and driver is in compliance with DOT guidelines
· Understand and be fully aware of all DOT guidelines and adheres to such regulations
· Ensure that truck is always clean and cab area is organized
· Clean work areas daily to ensure work environment is safe and organized
· Ability to safely deploy to remote geographic assignment locations – onshore and offshore locations with limited access to medical care, which may require 4 hours (or more) travel time to reach secondary level medical care
Qualifications/Requirements
· High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution
· Minimum 1 year Boom Truck experience required
Eligibility Requirements
· Possess a valid Class B CDL
· Work outside in various conditions and weather
· Work in various locations as needed
· Work overtime, weekends and holidays, as required
· Work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending and other physical activities
· Be in the shop environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required
· Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs
· be subjected to extreme heat for extended periods of time
· Undergo Periodic fitness for duty tests, examinations, and/or certifications will be required for onshore/offshore remote location assignments
