Role Summary/Purpose

To identify and implement Lean Manufacturing opportunities within manufacturing cells to reduce manufacturing costs, set up times and improve product flow.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Fabricates safe, lean, ergo fixtures and miscellaneous non-production tooling from sketches and verbal instructions utilizing equipment including CNC equipment and manual mills, drill presses, grinders, lathes as well as various welding equipment. 
·  Review moonshine requests with requestor(s) to ensure in scope of Moonshine. 
·  Effectively manage and prioritizes multiple projects and communicate project status across the shop to ensure maximum improvement and return-on-investment. 
·  Creative thinking, taking non-production tooling ideas from concept all the way to fabrication.  
·  Interact with employees at all levels across the shop and collaboratively partner with your moonshine teammates to generate innovative solutions. 
·  Participate and facilitate LEAN initiatives including participating in all Action Work Outs. 
·  Order supplies and materials for moonshine projects while tracking and staying on annual budget 
·  Performs housekeeping duties to ensure safe work areas. 
·  Complies with and supports all GE policies and GE Aviation procedures as listed in the site handbook or other company or functional related documents.
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Associates degree and/or equivalent experience 
·  Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in machining or fabrication 
·  Experience with CAD systems such as AutoCAD or Unigraphics 
·  Experience operating various hand and power tools and basic machine tools and equipment 
·  Experience in the use of shop math, including fractions, decimals, trigonometry and algebraic expressions.  
·  Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
